Welcome

BEAUPARC is a small boutique Riding Pony stud in central Victoria that breeds quality show galloways, show ponies and show hunter ponies and galloways. And although we didn't plan for it, Beauparc progeny are now being admired as sports ponies, with a number heading very successfully into pony dressage competitions. Their movement and sports ability making them very versatile performers.

Combining the best riding pony, welsh and thoroughbred bloodlines, Beauparc has been consistently producing premium show prospects that have both the conformation and movement to achieve the highest possible accolades and to please the most discerning buyers.

Beauparc became a stud in the early eighties, when stud proprietor Libby Greshner began to breed with some of her best show mares to develop the ultimate in show mounts. She was particularly taken with the newly imported riding ponies that were arriving from England and the quality coming from first crosses, and it wasn't long before she had produced her own riding pony youngstock. Enamoured of the breed, she then went in search of her own colt and finally purchased the 18 month old Fairlight Acres Windsine.

F.A. Windsine was sired by the well known imported riding pony Rotherwood Windswept. His dam, Rae Chantellie was by the APSB registered stallion Wodonga Clark, (who was said to be a riding pony before his time, with a fantastic front and great movement coming from mostly welsh bloodlines) crossed with the ASB (thoroughbred) mare Backstalls. And from his very first drop Windsine immediately proved he could pass on his impressive genes with regard to conformation and movement. His main limitation was the lack of a prestigious (Imp) after his name, and he has therefore been less recognised and certainly more under-rated than he should have been. But his progeny will prove his value in delivering superb mounts that are current and future champions, and he can already lay claim to having sired several national arena winners.

With the passing of several of our foundation mares we have since brought in Cherrington Damascus, a Welsh B stallion who brings in the genes from four impressive imported bloodlines including those of the renowned Keston Royal Occasion. This introduces additional highly desired welsh bloodlines to our William daughters.

Beauparc is not a big stud. With only 40 acres of land, our mission is to breed quality not quantity, and therefore we retain only a few quality mares and only produce a small number of foals each year. And with the recent severe drought, we have not even always covered the mares we have.

We are always most happy to show them off. Inspection of the Beauparc stock is invited and people are most welcome to come, but by appointment, please.
