Welcome to Beauparc. We are a small Boutique stud in central Victoria that breeds quality show galloways, show ponies and show hunter ponies and galloways. And although we didn't plan for it, Beauparc progency are now being admired as sports ponies, with a number heading very successfully into pony dessage competitions. Their movement and sports ability making them very versatile performers.

Combining the best riding pony, welsh and thoroughbred bloodlines, Beauparc has been consistently producing premium show prospects that have both the conformation and movement to achieve the highest possible accolades and to please the most decerning buyers.

Beauparc became a stud in the early eighties, when stud proprietor Libby Greshner began to breed with some of her best show mares and was looking to breed the penultimate show mount. She was particularly taken with the newly imported riding ponies that were arriving from England and their first crosses and it wasn't long until she had produced her own riding pony youngstock and became enamoured of the breed. So much so she went in search of her own colt and finally purchased the 18 month old Fairlight Acres Windsine.

William as he was known, was sired by the well known imported riding pony Rotherwood Windswept, and his dam is Rae Chantellie who was by the APSB stallion Wodonga Clark, who was said to be a riding pony before his time, with a fantastic front and great movement, and comes mostly from welsh bloodlines; crossed with the ASB (thoroughbred) mare Backstalls. And from his very first drop William proved he could pass on incredible genes with regard to conformation and movement. He has only failed to excite on a larger scale due to the lack of a prestigious (Imp) behind his name, and has therefore been less recognised and certainly more under-rated than he should have been. But in the future his progeny will prove his value as his daughters are already delivering current and future champions. And to his credit, he has also delivered national show hunter winners in crosses with the more horsey mares.

With the passing of several of our foundation mares we have recently brought in Cherrington Damascus, a welsh B stallion who brings in the genes from his Grandsire Keston Royal Occasion. With all four grandparents being premium imports, he introduces highly desired welsh bloodlines to our William daughters. As a yearling and as a two year old in limited outings he found great success, winning the Supreme Welsh B sash at Adelaide Royal. And in only his first few seasons he is already proving his worth with the delivery of exciting youngsters who have beautiful refined pony heads, the best eyes, brilliant colour(bling) and the great welsh nature. He is also quickly proving to be a popular sire for outside mares.

Beauparc is not a big stud. With only 40 acres of land, the mission is to breed quality not quantity, and therefore there are only a small number of foals produced each year. And with the recent severe drought we have severely limited our numbers.

Inspection of the Beauparc stock is invited and most welcome, but by appointment, please.

1st July 2008

It's winter, cold yes, but not nearly wet enough. Sadly, it looks like Victoria is continuing with it's long dry even though we have a delightful sheen of green everywhere. Meanwhile James (B. Exquisite) broke in beautifully and is now having a short break before he comes back in to take the next step. Dale (B. Lauderdale) too is broken is and going beautifully. By the end of this week he too will be taking a break and be able to reflect on what he has learnt. Both boys were a dream to break in, and we look forward to them making their mark.Meanwhile Zoe progresses well and we are looking forward to seeing what sort of a baby she is having to Danny.

To see what sort of saddle galloway Dale is, here are a couple of recent photos of him under saddle in just his 3rd week of riding, albeit in his winter woolies.

And a couple of James taken a few weeks ago also in his winter woolies.

Beauparc is now into it's winter program. James (Beauparc Exquisite) is currently in the process of being broken in and isn't he being a good boy. He's loving the attention and is picking it up so quickly and in such good humour. As we had already presumed, his movement is outstanding and we are anticipating him making an outstanding newcomer in the coming season. We may also start him in some pony dessage trials in a few months time. Dale will then be in for his turn.

Kiara has now sold and we expect to hear very good things from her new owner, a 10 year old girl from Dubbo who was very excited to be able to buy a galloway with Kiara's talent. We expect to hear of her successes in the very near future.

We had planned to put Zara in foal this month for a late season foal, but the sudden change to cool weather and the continuing dry have decided us against that, and we will leave it to Zoe to have our only foal for this season. But we are expecting something truly special with this first Zoe/Danny foal. We have put in an order for some extra flash (bling), and with Zoe's talent for producing superb babies, we are expecting something extra special. With Danny's babies at Beauparc and elsewhere proving to be a delight it is ensuring his continuance as a desired sire.

At this time though, we are planning to cover Zara, Zoe, Ruby, Shenae and our maiden mare Sami in the coming breeding season. We have 2 services booked to Manorvale County Royal, which we couldn't take up last year due to the outbreak of EI, but hope the coming season will not prove to be so difficult. And having sold a good number of our progeny this season we are ready to add to our numbers with some new babies in 2009.

And if time allows, both Danny and Thomas look likely to begin doing some dessage within the next few months.
